Overview

A midwife is a primary health care provider and a regulated health professional. Registration with the Nova Scotia Nursing and Midwifery Regulator comes with professional responsibilities, which are set out in the Regulated Health Professions Act, and in other provincial legislation and regulations. The regulator also creates policies and standards of practice that govern midwifery.
